Well who would believe it was May, the weather has been awful these last couple of weeks and our poor brides have had truly wet weather for the lovely weddings we have been involved in. Lots of weddings at Hotel du Vin, The Spa Hotel and Chiddingstone Castle, and a few new venues this year include Mountains Country House, Pashley Manor Gardens and Shoreham Church. We are back to Hever Castle later in the summer and also at Penshurst Place. Hotel du Vin have done a fabulous job on the gardens and they look amazing, thanks to the new Manager Simon who took over just a couple of weeks ago.

We took delivery of the first seasonal peonies last week, Coral Charm which is a gorgeous dark peach variety (peach is the IN colour did you know, for weddings for 2012) ! Prices are still on the high side, but they are getting better every week.

90cm delphiniums didn't last long in the shop last week, they went the same day we got them delivered! They are truly beautiful and a great reminder of the English summer flowers to come.

We are very excited to have, as of next week, locally grown, organic varieties from Wealden Flowers based in Hartfield and are lucky enough to buy direct from these growers, taking delivery of sweet pea, stock, dahlia, gladioli and some lovely garden rose varieties. Mixed wraps of these beauties start from as little as £12. They are truly gorgeous flowers and will go on until the end of the summer.

Some great new flavours of scented candles from the Grand Illusions Range. This month we have Morroccan Rose, Tomato and Blackcurrant (my favourite), Wild Fig and French Lavender! They are priced at £5.50 and make great little thank you gifts.
